  • Older travelers

Friendly staff, comfortable room, and breakfast freshly cooked to order in an attractive dining room. A good location in the centre of Abergavenney and ideal for visiting the market and local shops.

Parking is in the street of the hotel and free from 5.00pm to 9.00 am. We got a space as a quiet day at a quiet time of the year. You must move the car by 9.00 am or else risk getting booked. Other times of the year may mean finding parking a little way from the hotel.

  • Older travelers

The hospitality of the staff.Next doot to the market and theatre. Food good.

  • Older travelers

Great location, relaxed attitude towards timing of access to room i.e. given a set of keys that allowed you to access the Hotel and your room at whatever time suits you.

  • Older travelers

    Central location

Not there long enough to try the extensive menu. In previous visits food excellent.Breakfast was superb!

  • Group of friends

The location is excellent as a town location with easy access to the Brecon mountains. The staff were excellent, friendly efficient and very obliging

length of time to get hot water through tap in bathroom

  • Single

You have to enter via the bar, which is a town centre pub. No sign of a reception desk. However the barman takes you to the restaurant where there is a desk, and yes! they do have your booking. The room was clean and comfortable, so what at first appeared to have been a big mistake, turned out to be quite OK. And the price was reasonable.

  • Older travelers

    Friendly staff.

The bar area needed some updating. Although we were on the 2nd floor we could hear the music in the bar on each night.

  • Single

Noise coming from an airconditioning or fridge unit outside.

  • Family with children

The young staff were genuinely sweet, caring and helpful (I arrived to a loud pub noise after an 8 hour journey and had been around the ring road 3 times !!!! So I was upset and emotional...

the bar dominates the first impression of the hotel and the owners need to think about how to make a resident. ' s first impression more relaxing and welcoming

  • Older travelers

    friendly staff good food

no mention about car parking in advert. no mention about hotel closing at four pm on a sunday in winter.

  • Group of friends

The rooms were good, clean and functional. The bathroom was very good and the dinning room functional

Had difficulty with the TV's in the rooms not working.

  • Older travelers

Friendly, good food, good range of draught beers.

  • Family with children

Friendly staff. Very clean. Food excellent, hot and attractively served as well as good quality. Right in the town centre. Willing to help with luggage as no lift.

Parking on street or in paid car park ( no room for a carpark any way) Lots of stairs, no lift, didnt notice that in advert. ( Again hard to alter this in an old building) Entrance to hotel through a busy bar, which seemed a bit strange. I suppose it regulates who goes in and out.

  • Family with children

Friendly and welcoming. Nicely decorated good size room. Good breakfast.

Bedside light and hair dryer not working and bed head lower than feet but otherwise lovely clean room.

  • Single

Very easy going - attentive - will stay anothr time.
